Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide KE5DNI used amateur radio to speak to Scouts at Space Jam 6 in Rantoul, Illinois.
The Space Jamboree Workshop is the Midwest’s largest technology oriented gathering of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Scouts from all over the United States came to this year’s Space Jam 6 sponsored by Troop 17 and Crew 272, where a ARISS contact with the International Space Station was held. Scouts talked with Japanese (JAXA) Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide KE5DNI using the WB9SA Satellite Communications Ham Radio Station at 5:06 AM CDT August 5, 2012.
